I think that we’ve seen in marketing for the last couple of decades what is won out is “Hey, here is all about my products
and services and how awesome they are we put a lot of advertising money and a lot of promotion money behind it”
and that has worked, but that doesn’t work as well any more.
I think what people want to see is your expertise in action so if you’re going
to communicate any message out to your audience we want that to be valuable, compelling, relevant
information that’s going to help that audience do something
Are you trying to help them get a better job live a better life? What are you trying to help them to do?
So in all cases you have to understand who is your
audience and what’s in it for the audience? What’s the outcome for the audience?
If I’m going to give advice to others it would be to show people that you’re a rockstar not tell people they are rock star.
